Introduction about :
PAINTOMO
On April 13, 2025, the Osaka-Kansai Expo will open, gathering future-oriented technologies and innovations from around the world under the theme “Designing a society where the future and life continue to shine.” Musashi Paint will participate in this exhibition to showcase our efforts in pioneering a new industry. Through the publication “PAINTOMO,” we will introduce innovative approaches to creating algae-based paint, aiming to establish a new standard in sustainable manufacturing.
Background : why is algae-base paint?

While plant-derived raw materials are gaining attention across various industries, algae—non-edible and highly efficient to cultivate—are emerging as a promising new material alternative.
Musashi Paint has developed a novel bio-based paint utilizing algae-derived raw materials. We firmly believe in its potential as a next-generation material and are advancing research to bring it into practical application.
PAINTOMO Exhibition: "Exploring Shared Pathways to Innovation"
“PAINTOMO”, currently exhibited at the Expo venue, is a three-dimensional material model created by our company using a novel bio-based paint derived from algae.
By modeling creative paint from paint cans, we embody the positive energy driving toward a future where nature-inspired innovation expands endlessly. The name “PAINTOMO” is a coined term combining “PAINT” (coating) and “TOMO” (friends/companions from Japanese), symbolizing collaborative creativity bridging humanity and nature.

Musashi Paint's Commitment | Innovating Coatings for a Sustainable Future
Musashi Paint has consistently embraced the challenge of eco-conscious manufacturing to realize a sustainable society. As part of this commitment, we pioneered the development of plant-based bio-paints and have now achieved performance levels comparable to conventional products.
Building on this progress, we have joined the MATSURI Project as a co-creation partner, successfully innovating a new algae-derived bio-paint.
Algae—a non-edible resource—has emerged as a cornerstone of future manufacturing due to its high cultivation efficiency and minimal environmental footprint. We firmly believe in its transformative potential and are actively pursuing applications to unlock its full capabilities.
Through this initiative, Musashi Paint, as a core member of the MATSURI Project, is advancing vision-driven sustainable production that harmonizes ecological responsibility with industrial progress.
